Riquiño must be pronounced “rree-kee-nio” and means cute and tender.
Riquiño Art, is the term I define the series of artworks, that could emerge from a wonderful tales book, or from a beautiful animated film.
These are artworks made in any media, and that are found joyful and funny, as well as pretty, and all enjoyed by both children and adults.
The artists of this kind of artworks, do animation, comic, illustration or all together. They are mainly inspired on the 50’s and 60’s artists on these fields.
We could almost say that the inspiration of Riquiño Art is the popular North American 50’s artist Mary Blair.
